Spilborghs upright grand, Brussels, 1845

Next to the renowned and famous piano builders there were several smaller piano workshops in Brussels and other cities in Belgium. One of them was Spilborghs, he was active from 1844 until 1860. This model of a cabinet piano was rare in Belgium and this specific instrument is the only remaining piano of Spilborghs. The cast has a veneer of palisander wood and rushes made of maple.
